   I used this for 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch press fittings, and it worked just fine. The valve for engaging/disengaging the hydraulic cylinder is labeled “backwards” though. In order to crimp a fitting I have to turn the valve in the direction labeled “off”. Then to release the hydraulic pressure the valve is turned towards “on”. That seems backwards to me. But once I figured that out it functions as it should.

   This hydraulic pipe crimper is a solid tool for copper pipes. It works great on 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″ sizes. The aluminum alloy body feels sturdy, and the rotating head makes it easier to use in tight spaces. I’ve used it with Viega fittings and it performed well. Definitely worth the price.
