This ballast box is all I need. I put about 100lbs of old 5lb sash weights and a couple old 10lb weight bench plates in the bottom, then I put my tow hitch, a few heavy recovery chains, a come along winch, and also a small toolbox inside.I’m also going to be bolting a chainsaw holder to the outside. I am using it as both rear ballast and a utility box that carries everything I need to maintain my property.I bought the same brand quick attach, and the ballast box fits okay and is easy to pick up, but it would be better and smoother with a set of Cat 1 bushings installed on the side lift pins.

Look I didn’t want to justify spending 500$ on a simple ballast box, so this popped up on Garvee. It’s perfect, yea the hardware is whatever. Hand tightened them put it on my tractor and started moving 1000 pound logs for my business. It works, it connects, if holds chains and tools and weight. What more could I ask for. I sell firewood so it’s going to have the life of a tree service/logging tractor. Works on my Bobcat Tractor just fine. Love it.

Seems to work fine, 360 pounds of sand mixed with limestone crushed stone and 3 inches of concrete at the top. The bolts sticking up will be holding a storage box on the top.

It works great and connects easily to my JD 1025R. I bought the flat black one so if it gets a scratch on it I can use a can of flat black spray paint and have a better match than with the red or green colors.

What can you say, it¡¯s a metal box. Metal seems thick enough, I chose this one because it is black not orange or green. Also mine did come with actual Cat-1 sized pins which is great, as opposed to Cat 0 with bushings as some of the other ones do. All in all it¡¯s a box full of rocks but works great and does what I need it to do.
