The only downside, in my eyes, is that the thermometer only goes in about 2 inches, which really limits on how well you can tell the temp of the liquid. With that being said, I ordered a 9″ long thermometer (the depth is about 10 3/4 to 11″, will have to drill the hole from 1/4″ npt to a 1/2″ npt, which is no issue. That way, a better accurate temp is giving during the heating portion, as different liquid will boil at different temps.All in all, it’s not bad, it’s well build, holds up to flames pretty well.
